ELDRITCH - "EL NINO" (LIMB MUSIC PUBLISHING)

Eldritch has recently released their third album, entitled "El Nino". Like the phenomenon the album is named after, it's quite fickle. It gets off with a slow, or at least untypical start - rather danceable and industrial - then takes the listener on a voyage past really quite good tracks like "The Last Days of the Year" and "From Dusk Till Dawn". It seems to me the band does not really know what they want. Eldritch have in their ranks talented guitarist Eugene Simone, who ought perhaps to be more allowed to shine. Similarly with keyboardist Oleg Smirnoff (is that his real name?).

The album leaves me with feelings as mixed as their music. The first few tracks I don't like at all, but the later ones are actually rather good. Best to check the album out and decide for yourself.
