It isn't often that you hear an album and every single track on it leaves a consistently deep impression. Aborted made such an album, though. Parted by atmospheric spoken samples (usually about death, or at least something death-related), you get eight very intense, highly technical death metal tracks brimming over with rabid energy and (somewhat morbid) enthusiasm.

Aborted are from Belgium, but don't let the image of the beer-guzzling half-wit put you on the wrong footing. In fact, Aborted seem single-handedly to dispell any such prejudice. Belgian jokes will never be the same again. Their drummer in particular seems to be the thread around which the band weaves its particularly nasty death metal with a lethal dose of gusto. Good stuff, this.
