EKTOMORF - "I SCREAM UP TO THE SKY" (SILVERDUST RECORDS)

Ektomorf are a group of ethnic gypsies from Hungary. With "I Scream up the Sky" they deliver old Sepultura attitude with an old Laberinto type of sound. The music tends to be rather similar throughout the album, with the exception of "Fajdalom Konnyei" (a crap Hungarian-language reggae track with bad 'clean/normal' singing ). There is definitely a nu metal ingredient there as well, which will likely appeal to connoisseurs of that genre. Most interesting is the Beatles cover "A Hard Day's Night", which even has some scratching in there.

"I Scream up to the Sky" seems to harness an entire ethnic group's bile and anger. The album puts Hungary on the metal map in a way that could have a been a lot worse.
